We decided to search for models that are approximately the same age, as we want to create a youthful image with teenagers hanging out and feeling good together, especially because our audience is attracted and enjoys this the most. As we decided to make one session of filming in Cluj and one in Timisoara we need characters from both towns. Of course, this was a challenging step as we had to convince a lot of people to help us and to be available to us for a couple of days and they also have to emerge the vibe and energy that we wanted to create and be suitable for what our audience is expecting.
The characters from Cluj:
As a team, we set together and made a list with the persons that we think are the most appropriate for the vision that we have and each of us started to ask people if they could help us and tell them all the details. Of course, a lot of them said no ( especially because they were camera-shy), so we had to adapt and to find someone else, and quick, as a lot of them said initially that they can and then changed their minds. Also, some of them could help us only in one day of filming ( in Cluj we filmed two days), so we had to find different characters for the next day. We decided to have more male models and only 2 or 3 females as central figures. Some of them helped us in both days, so we decided to make them a more central figure in the video.
Carina Bejenaru:
She was one of the female central models in our video- for Cluj. She helped us a lot being involved and curious to find out more about our project. Cari also helped us with some ideas and was very open to feedback.
She made her contribution bt performing lips-sinking, and really brought in the hip-hop flowy energy.
We decided that she can wear something more colorful in order to stand out and express that hip-hop culture and feeling. The color of her hair and her unique style were perfect for our video as we wanted to gather different characters, each with their own strong and complex personality and style.
Bianca Nagy:
She was the other central female figure from the video in Cluj. Her attitude and look helped us construct a very vibey atmosphere. She was there for us in both days and her openness, implication, and receptivity to our suggestions and indications made the process flow easily
Razvan Balta:
He was the male central figure in the video. He performed lips-sinking establishing a really chill vibe in the atmosphere of the video. He was there for us both days and helped us with ideas and suggestions.
Sergiu Pop & Edi Nagy:
They were able to join us only on the first day of filming. They brought the sense of rap culture into the video as they where waring watches, brand clothes, the shoes that have significant importance in this genre, etc.
Victor Muresean:
He brought dynamicity to the footage through his radiant personality and outfit. He could join us only on the second day. He helped us with lip-sinking.
Aiham:
He joined us only on the second day and helped us with lip-sinking. He has a very vibey style, very linked to the energy and atmosphere we want to transmit.
It was a pleasure to work with them as a group and from the process of choosing and organising the characters from Cluj, we learned a lot, this allowed us to improve this process for Timisoara, making it more efficient and qualitative.
The whole Cluj crew:
The characters from Timisoara:
As Timisoara is my hometown, I was in charge to find and organise the characters from here.
Fro our experience from filing in Cluj, we figured out that is really important if the characters know each other because then, they are more comfortable and act natural. In Cluj, not all of them know each other and this made them stiffer and uncomfortable. So I decided to speak with my friends from the Highschool I was following in Timisoara, as we all know each other really well ( there was a bit of a challenge as the rest of the team didn't know them), and I know they are really trustful people that are really involved, on time and always there to offer their help. Moreover, their stiles are perfect for the music video. So seven of them were willing to help us and I managed to organise them to be our models for three full days. This was a teamwork process, as I presented to my team the models I was thinking about and discuss together what should they were and do during filming.
Leonardo Vasilescu:
Leo was the one how was really free in the front of the camera, being dynamic, charismatic and full of energy, he helped us a lot by learning the verses for lips-sinking, being prepared and always bringing new ideas.
He helped me also with the preliminary work and I saw his potential in front of the camera, that's why we chose him as a central figure. ( For me he was also a very strong emotional support with the whole project). He was wearing mostly hoodies, baggie pants, chains, and brand shoes - as he is passionate about this genre of music and adopted its fashion style.
Maria Botez:
Her style and natural beauty unfolded a very aesthetic atmosphere. Maria gave us a lot of creative ideas as she was really devoted to the process. She was dressed mostly in hoodies, embracing the hip-hop culture through her attitude. She did an important scene with graffiti writing" SWEET" on a wall- a very precious part of the footage.
Steliana Boia:
Steliana, as a very creative and active spirit, pushed us to have a more creative perspective. Her natural beauty and authenticity made her stand up, being a very important figure in the process. Her outfit was mostly based on an oversized t-shirt and baggie ripped jeans.
Tania Iacob:
Tania made her contribution in the video through her radiant happiness and charming beauty, lighting the atmosphere throughout her naturality.
Rares Ivan:
Rares was an essential character bringing mystery to the video and uncertainty, through his unique and keen attitude. His outfit was based on a black jacket, black bag, and jeans but his best part, that made him Rares is his cap- that unfolded his mystery.
Denis Georgescu:
Denis added a massive important attitude to the video through his great lips-sinking and his temper. He was very involved and devoted as he also spent his birthday filming with us. He instaurated a fun and lovely atmosphere through the process.
Leo Popovici:
Leo contributed with a very chilled attitude being open to help and to perceive our suggestions. His authentic style and temper reflecting the hip-hop culture. His outfit was mostly constructed by a hoodie, black jeans, and a red baggy jacket.
All the characters have strong and different personalities and styles in order to bring diversity and openness to our video, each of them having a powerful mark on the process and progress bringing their own unique styles alive through their interpretation. Together they create the perfect image of hip-hop, rap genre. It was a lovely process to work with all of them, as well as challenging because is not easy to organize, mobilize, and give indications to a bigger group.
The complete crew from Timisoara ( Leo Popovici was missing because was a bit late that day):
