Story-Understanding Brockhampton

We decided to create a more of an illustrative music video as we wanted to link it directly with the lyrics as we really liked the meaning and the energy that the song is transmitting.

We chose to create a music video for Sweet, created by Brockhampton, released in the album: Saturation II, the name fits, they literally saturate the hip-hop field with their sound - their music is very dynamic and tuned. The album was supported by four singles, "Gummy", "Swamp", "Junky" and "Sweet".

About the band

"Brockhampton(stylized in all caps) is an American alternative hip hop band founded as AliveSinceForever in San Marcos, Texas, United States, in 2010. In 2014, the band rebranded as Brockhampton. Led by Kevin Abstract and formed partially through the online forum "KanyeToThe", Brockhampton is a self-described boy band, so-called in an effort to redefine the term. "- Wikipedia

Complex Magazine describes the group as "gay, black, white, DIY, ambitious, all-inclusive, and would-be pop stars," - their complexity and chemistry as a collective and their bonding make them special and outstanding as it is challenging to keep and organize such a diverse and big group alive, in such good performances.

Insights: Each video starts with a guy sais " Me llamo Roberto"

Discography

The band has realized five studio albums: Saturation, Saturation I, Saturation II, Saturation III, Iridescence, and Ginger.

SWEET

In this song each member of the band brought their personality and presented it differently, each having their own vibe and their own individual quality and views on life. Each of them exposed a part of their life, showing it to the audience, letting their fans know them better.

<"Sweet" is the second single off the record and we know why they picked it to introduce the compilation. It has a baseline that swells, a barbed synth, and another sound that reminds us of the wind instrument played to charm snakes. They bounce between singing and spitting with thought-provoking yet catchy lines like, "In a pack but I feel all alone / I'm scatterbrained, man / Better offer the clone."It's relevant and powerful, but the song still manages to have its fun.> - source: https://www.wearetheguard.com/music/top-new-chill-brockhampton-sweet.

Brockhampton brings so many styles and sounds to the table:

Kevin Abstract -rapper, singer, songwriter, director, actor, and the unofficial leader of Brockhampton. "The Renaissance Man"- he has an unquenchable curiosity. Sentimental, he proves his superiority by exposing his vulnerabilities.

Joba -  producer and engineer, Vulnerable, Raw & Pretty, emotion vastly change from track to track, he effectively navigates from sound to sound, emotion to emotion only using his voice

Joba specifically in SWEET - Fun, Clever, Unique, Versatility. The definition of variety. Joba is just as comfortable singing an emotional ballad as he does angrily screaming at the top of his lungs.

Dom McLeonn- brings poetry to the band, he delivered the most powerful and meaningful verses throughout the group history, he let his feelings show the most through his lyrics. His emotional and vulnerable verses often feel like guidance. Storyteller, poet.

Dom about his passion for his work:

Bearface- before the boy band assembled, he was already building his own substantial discography, he started producing and playing in bands from 15 years. He provides vocals, instrumentations. He is mysterious he brings the enigma in the band.

As a lot of people are questioning the meaning of his scene name, Beardface revealed:

Merlyn - stands out, he is extravagant, and always doing unusual things in the bands' videos, which is bringing out the concept of hyperreality. The most energetic, the loudest members of the band. But besides of his stereotype of loud, he is very deep on sensible on the inside. He often sings about the faces of racism that he experienced and confronts. Merlyn talks about some real deep stuff all the time but because of his appearance, usually agitated or in an unusual setting, the attention of the audience is usually distracted from the lyrics and the downfalls of being a kid who experienced this. Goofy, energetic, humorous member, he puts everything on the line to entertain his audience, he's willing to do things differently with little fear of rejection, he is confident and charismatic. He is my favorite member as I dared to explore more about him than just limit myself to his authentic aparence, a thing that a lot of people view him as an appearance, forgetting its essence and real potential that is in a way or another express through his special representations and different forms of experiencing itself.

Matt Champion - vocalist, he has some of the most versatile vocals, great self-confidence, swagger to his persons. When he raps is very direct. He is a really private person, he doesn’t like being in the spot. One of the most recognizable members.

Matts' opinion about the band:

Postmodern approach and the view of the audience:
