My inspiration comes from the “BEAUTY Atlas”, by Mihalea Noroc, from Bucharest, Romania. She traveled all over around the world in order to manage to take photos of different women and to emphasize their uniqueness. Mihaela Noroc says:” So when I was 27 I decided to quit my ordinary life in Bucharest and put all my efforts and savings into travel and photography. That’s when I created The Atlas of Beauty.” She inspired me with her book and I will look forward to meeting her in a book inauguration and to tank her.
Since I was little, I was dreaming to travel around the world and I was getting involved in a lot of volunteer projects in order to do so. As a teenager I traveled alone in Iceland, North America, Greate Britain and South Africa. These journeys opened my horizon's and allow me to discover myself better. In each of these places I couldn't leave my house without a camera. I receive my first camera - “Coolpix” Nikon – right before to leave in Iceland, when I was 14. As I was very passionate about discovering the world and meting new and different people, when I first saw the Atlas of Beauty, I stayed in that book shop for hours reading and admire the photos in the Atlas. After one year from this , I received the book from my parents and I was looking at those beautiful girls from the book every night and I could only dreaming about how cool it will be for me to do that : to travel all over the world, taking photos to beautiful people. Then, at 16 years I started to follow the journey of my dream.
That’s how I decided to create a magazine with a cultural genre and how I started to think to the conventions representative for it. I find out that I want to focus more my magazine on the authenticity of each model combined with a meaningful text, more than creating a commercial and simple magazine.
I did reasearch and I find some inspiring photos from the Atlas of Beauty which crate my mood board:
